Since 1992 the Hellenic Folk Dancing Group of Houston has proudly presented Greek dancing
through performances, lectures, and special presentations.
tsamikos A truly remarkable and self-sufficient group, it embraces dance instruction, choreography, and costume design, giving emphasis on the authenticity of movement and music, as well as the historical, social, and traditional context of the dances. The group has an extensive repertoire including dances from all parts of Greece. Through the years, it has participated in many Houston festivals, performed in events sponsored by various Hellenic organizations and represented the Hellenic Professional Society of Texas in functions organized by the Houston Greek community.

The group has also organized two unforgettable "stand alone" events featuring live dancing, multimedia presentations, and recitations from excerpts of Greek literature related to dance:
· "Greek Dancing Through the Centuries" (1997)
· "Greek Spirit, Soul, and Dance" (1998)
